Estimation of Genetic Variability for Yield and Yield Attributing Traits in Dolichus Bean [Lablab purpureus (L.) Sweet var. Typicus] Genotypes

Dolichos bean is an indigenous legume grown as vegetable (Lablab purpureus var. typicus) and pulse lignosus) throughout India. A wide range of variation exists for the morphological reproductive characters amongst land races Indian Bean all over country. Therefore it necessary to select variety having desired pod quality with high yield potential. Despite these good attributing still regarded underexploited because low productivity, long duration photosensitivity, flowering irregularity, growth habit preference consumers respect shape, size, colour, aroma. Keeping this in view present investigation was conducted at All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Vegetable Crops, Odisha University Of Agriculture Technology, Bhubaneswar during Rabi, 2020-21 evaluating characters, estimating variability, heritability, genetic advance association between effective selection estimate variability Dolichus [Lablab (L.) sweet typicus] genotypes further crop improvement study. The genotypic variance ranged from 0.02 weight per plant 2435 average leaf area. phenotypic 0.023 2879.8 Phenotypic coefficient (PCV) higher than 14 taken. This happened PCV estimates includes variations due environment (E) genotype (GE) interaction. highest (60.31) followed by area (35.09) indicating presence germplasm traits. Higher value GCV found like (59.80) (32.26) number pods (31.94). Highest heritability broad sense observed Pod (98.30) (96.17), (84.55), inflorescence (83.91), length (82.22), height (78.82), hectare (78.66) that are less influenced environment.
